We are currently recording some tales and songs and we have now recorded 4 songs and one folk tale with dramatic sound effects. A cd will be available soon with the old folk songs and tales that we will have in the show. These days work starts from 8 am-20 pm with a large lunch break because the legends love to eat, drink and be merry everyday and why not?
Next friday the 23rd of October is an opening night for the famous: “Mountaineers of Iceland- monster truck and snowmobile rental” and their staff. It’ll be a night of food and fun, and the Icelandic legends will be there to promote their show. Latest reports say that there’s a good chance of seeing the northern lights that evening!
“The Icelandic legends” is a small group of storytellers/musicians that have come together under this name to tell the old folk tales and sing the songs that their forefathers/mothers/sisters/brothers/sons and daugthers told and sang ages before them. “The Icelandic legends” offer an unforgettable show in surroundings fitting the occasion. We offer an Icelandic traditional/cosmopolitan buffet, cold and fresh Icelandic beer, water or whatever floats your viking boat. If you would like go for a ride on an Icelandic horse before dinner then that’s a great idea which can be arranged with ease. We will show you the magic of the northern lights and talk about the mythology that they have sparked in the countries of the arctic throughout history and explain how they really work and why they appear. Then after dinner we go outside and see if the northern lights will be dancing for us in the sky.
So if you want to get a little insight into the way Icelanders entertained each other in the old days and learn about the northern lights in a fun way, then why not do it while eating wonderful food and have a few laughs in the process
